I think that the Meredith Brooks' song, "Bitch," summarizes me rather nicely. Or, if you prefer, X. dell says I'm a life-smart literary scholar with a low BS tolerance...that also works!

Happy Mother's Day

I luck out that my ex and my husband can play nice. My ex had the kids today, and he brought them over so they could all take me out to lunch. My ex commented, you're probably the only woman in the restaurant who has her ex and her current at the same table. He's probably right.

My son gave me a card. They were supposed to fill in the blanks as they saw fit. The topic was "My Mom"

My mom is....white.

She likes to...hug me.

Sometimes she...like to pay geme (likes to play games--he's in kindergarten! give him a break!)

The best thing about my mom is...she is alive.

HAHAHAHA! I love that last one. He's got a point. Anything else I got going for me is of no use without me being alive. I still chuckle when I think of that.

Happy Mother's Day! (And it's okay that my husband can't spell!)

Make sure you are putting those in a special drawer that you'll open by chance one day when he's 14 and it will make him turn 20 shades of red to read it. Those little cards are so much fun as they get older. =o)

You're back! Oh man, that's a funny card. You'd better keep it forever and ever. Happy Mother's Day. Thanks for your comment on my blog about the trial thingee. I really appreciate your kind words and support.

Juanita's friend's daughter wrote her a mother's day poem that started out, "Dear Mom, You're the bomb". I wish my ex and I could play nice...oh well! :)

I'll bet both your husbands would vote for No. 4, too.

Maybe the other restaurant patrons thought you were hording men.

I'm happy to see you had a good Mother's Day. I hope you have many more, or Jared's gonna be real disappointed.

The joy is in being alive. Look at all the universe and point to another place that has self aware life.

Uh, oh - only here that we are sure of!

I'm alive today, too.

Joe--haha! thanks :)

NWJR--yeah, he's cute, sweet, smart, AND funny! I lucked out by having two kids who rock!

Amanda--well, better he not spell than he not know how to spoil a woman. We're concentrating more on the latter than the former. I'm sure you don't mind.

Angie--you bet! I already have a memories drawer plus some folders wherein I keep the more fun stuff like that. I even have the obligatory baby nude bottom pictures to whip out in front of dates in high school too...haha!

Juanita--my mom used to tell me whenever life threw me a curveball, "This too shall pass." I always wanted to smack her in response, but you know what? She was right. Just keep me posted as to when the trial will be...that is, whenever you know it too!

Mandy--Well, you know full well some days that's all we got going for us, eh? Why not joke about it? If we don't laugh, we'll cry. Laughing seems much better :)

Laura--my ex is a weird one, and sometimes he pisses the hell out of me, but other times I'm grateful that he got at least some of his priorities straight. He's nice to Alex because he loves his kids, and his kids love Alex. I have to admire him for that because most men WON'T be that nice. We talk like friends now. Yeah, he occasionally reminds me very solidly why we are divorced, but on the whole--four years later now--we get along quite nicely. I wish that would happen with you and your ex, but he'll have to stop drinking for there to be a chance....

Hoss--haha! Yes, actually, since the ex even appreciates me being around, it's safe to say both the ex hubby and the current are excited that I'm not dead :)

X.dell--yeah, I've been accused of hoarding men before now! I'm planning on being around for many more, but you never know what happens. I just visited a blog today of a woman close to my age, and her mother just died suddenly of pneumonia. Shocked her, shocked me, shocked everybody...she wasn't old enough to die. But we never plan these things, do we?

Val--yup, and sometimes, being alive is enough to concentrate on to keep going to the next day, right? :)
